Wonderful North-West Georgian 30 hour Longcase by John Lawson of Bradford.

Oak case with swan neck pediment, plain columns with brass capitals, shaped door flanked by fluted columns on plinth base.

30 hour bell striking movement, upon what’s known as a Halifax trestle seat board has a 12 inch brass engraved dial and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, centred by a axe head moonphase above silvered mouthed date calendar below inscribed Jno Lawson, Bradford.

Movement in clean condition with large bell.

Known to have worked in the parish of Keighley before moving to Bradford in 1760

Several clocks held by The British Museum.
