Second generation cabinet maker and furniture restorer Daniel Chapman has worked on some of our most desirable clock cases, most importantly a fine and somewhat historical William & Mary marquetry case which houses an impeccable six fully latched pillar movement by Edward Bird that was commissioned by 'Sir Nathaniel Bond' 'The Kings Serjeant' from Purbeck in Dorset.
The 335 year old clock has been traced as being handed down through the Bond family in Dorset from Creech Grange to Tyneham to Moigne Combe over the remaining centuries.
The English author of James Bond, Ian Fleming was said to have been inspired by Sir Nathaniel's Grandfather John Bond, a 16th Century spy who's exploits under instruction of Queen Elizabeth helped Sir Francis Drake on many missions, including that of the 1586 attack on Santo Domingo in the Caribbean.
Fleming went to Durnford School on the Isle of Purbeck, in Dorset, which was next to the estate of the Bond family whose motto is 'The World Is Not Enough'
The clock was obtained very closely by in Dorset directly through the Bond Family with provenance and now after much research is available on the following link at £22,500
