A very scarce longcase by renown maker George Womersley of Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

This clock is 100% original…

Housed in a typically provincial oak case with wooden finials, brass capitals and paterae the 30 hour movement with four well turned pillars and outside countwheel is fitted to its original 12 inch brass dial with painted axe head moonphase showing a full coloured moon, a gentleman walking and again another moon in black.

Seated on its typical ‘Halifax’ trestle type seating board one can see the clocks complete originality.

The clock has its original glass which is full of beautiful swirls bubbles and waves, it’s original lock and key and also it’s original brass bobbed pendulum and lead weight.

The clock was taken in part exchange by us against a high value marquetry Longcase by Joseph Windmills, London… it is running well and keeping good time.

Standing 216cm high.

*case condition:

Small expansion crack to base of trunk, one return moulding replaced on base, general bumps and knocks commensurate with age. Case would benefit from a good beeswax polish and will come up very very well.

*very old lead repair to the crutch

Very respectfully priced for a clock by this maker that is totally original as it was the day it was made.
